Common Penlac uses
This
medicine is an antifungal agent used to treat
fungal infections of the fingernails and
toenails in patients with a normal immune system
(immunocompetent). It may also be used to treat
other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Before using Penlac
Some
medicines or medical conditions may interact
with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR
PHARMACIST of all prescription and
over-the-counter medicine that you are taking.
DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE if you are also taking
an oral antifungal medicine, unless directed
otherwise by your doctor. Inform your doctor of
any other medical conditions, allergies,
pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Contact your
doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions
or concerns about taking this medicine.
Penlac Directions
Follow
the directions for using this medicine provided
by your doctor. THIS MEDICINE COMES WITH A
PATIENT INFORMATION LEAFLET. Read it carefully.
Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any
questions that you may have about this medicine.
STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature between
59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) in a
tightly-closed container, away from heat and
light. Keep this medicine away from open flames.
TO CLEAR UP YOUR INFECTION COMPLETELY, continue
using this medicine for the full course of
treatment. Do not miss any doses. IF YOU MISS A
DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE and you are using it daily
at bedtime, skip the missed dose. Do not use the
medicine the following morning.
Penlac Cautions
IT MAY
TAKE SEVERAL MONTHS for this medicine to work.
Do not stop using this medicine without checking
with your doctor. KEEP ALL DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS
while you are using this medicine. DO NOT USE
nail polish or other nail products unless your
doctor instructs you otherwise. AVOID GETTING
THIS MEDICINE IN YOUR EYES or on the inside of
your nose or mouth. FOR WOMEN: IT IS UNKNOWN IF
THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU
ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are
using this medicine, check with your doctor or
pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
Possible Penlac side effects
A SIDE
EFFECT that may occur while using this medicine
is mild redness of the surrounding skin. If it
continues or is bothersome, check with your
doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS
POSSIBLE if you experience increased redness,
itching, burning, blistering, swelling, or
oozing of the treated area. If you notice other
effects not listed above, contact your doctor,
nurse, or pharmacist.

other health conditions. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out
of the reach of children. IF USING THIS MEDICINE
FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, obtain refills
before your supply runs out.
