Chemical Name: PSORIATEC ANTHRALIN (AN-thra-lin)
Common Psoriatec Cream uses
This medicine is a topical antimitotic used
to treat psoriasis.
Before using Psoriatec Cream
INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all
prescription and over-the-counter medicine
that you are taking. Inform your doctor of
any other medical conditions, allergies,
pregnancy, or breast-feeding.
Psoriatec Cream Directions
Follow the directions for using this
medicine provided by your doctor. This
medicine may come with a patient information
leaflet. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor,
nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you
may have about this medicine. IF YOU ARE
USING THIS MEDICINE ON YOUR SKIN: wash and
completely dry the affected area. Gently rub
the medicine into the affected areas. Wash
your hands immediately after using this
medicine unless your hands are part of the
treated area. AT THE END OF EACH TREATMENT
PERIOD, take a bath or shower to remove any
excess medicine. The outer portions of the
lesions may gradually become stained purple
or brown. IF YOU ARE USING THIS MEDICINE ON
YOUR SCALP: before using this medicine, comb
hair to remove scaling. Then part hair and
rub into sores. Wipe off excess. Remove any
unintended residue that may be deposited
behind the ears. Keep away from eyes or skin
which is not affected. Wash hair after each
treatment period. Wash your hands
immediately after using this medicine. STORE
THIS MEDICINE at room temperature in a
tightly-closed container, away from heat and
light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE,
use it as soon as possible. If it is almost
time for your next dose, skip the missed
dose and go back to your regular dosing
schedule.
Psoriatec Cream Cautions
If
your symptoms do not improve or if they
become worse, check with your doctor. THIS
MEDICINE MAY COLOR THE SKIN or fingernails
purple or brown. It will also stain clothes,
fabric, or bedding. Use medicine carefully
and wash hands (unless part of the treated
area) after use to avoid stains. Treated
areas of skin will gradually return to
normal color after treatment ends. Avoid
getting this medicine in your eyes or on the
inside of your nose and mouth. Immediately
after showering or bathing to remove this
medicine, always rinse the bathtub or shower
with hot water and then use a suitable
cleanser to remove any deposits. FOR WOMEN:
IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss
with your doctor the benefits and risks of
using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS
UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in
breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking
this medicine.
Possible Psoriatec side effects
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during
treatment, include staining of treated
areas. If you notice other effects not
listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or
pharmacist.

IF USING THIS MEDICINE FOR AN EXTENDED
PERIOD OF TIME, obtain refills before your
supply runs out.
